WHY CHOOSE THREE VALLEYS VETERINARY CLINIC?
We believe in offering the best possible veterinary care. To us this means modern veterinary medicine, knowledge, and technology whilst maintaining a culture of traditional values. We are really proud of what we have built and offer as an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly veterinary and administrative team, working across all species, offering a tailored service. Our equipment and experience allows us to be at the forefront of farm, equine, and companion animal veterinary medicine. Our ethos and approach allows us to offer a tailored, friendly and trustworthy service, where we prioritise empathy and strive to understand you and your needs. We believe in working hard for you and your animals; giving the best possible veterinary care including 24/7 emergency cover provided by our own vets. Being part of the community is important to us and we always try our best to be helpful, approachable, and honest in all we do and want to be active members in our local area.
WHAT DOES BEING AN INDEPENDENT VETERINARY PRACTICE MEAN?
Being independent means we are privately owned by individuals rather than being owned by a corporate company. It means that we get to decide on everything within our practice. We can choose our suppliers, equipment, prices, services offered and staffing levels. Being independent is something we are fiercely proud of as it means we can be transparent and you can speak directly to the people who are making the decisions that impact you and your animals. We are always happy to learn and improve, so we welcome your feedback. Being independent also means that our income is going back into our practice, and therefore back into the community, by being able to provide better services to you.
WHAT DOES BEING A MIXED VETERINARY PRACTICE MEAN?
Being a mixed veterinary practice means we cover all species within one practice. We believe that this has huge benefits as it means all of your veterinary needs are catered for under one roof. So, when you pop in for your dog’s vaccinations you can pick up your horse’s wormer or when you have us out on farm for a fertility visit we can swing by the house to check on the cat. What is doesn’t mean is that our service is any less. We pride ourselves in offering quality modern veterinary care across all of our species and have vets with specific interests in equine, farm, exotic pets and small animal medicine or surgery. We have the latest equipment and the latest knowledge and skills – we just happen to adapt that across all of our species! We can offer our full list of services with our experienced vets for our farm, equine and small animal clients.
WHAT IS YOUR EMERGENCY OUT OF HOURS SERVICE LIKE?
We strongly believe in being traditional vets offering a traditional service of in-house out of hours. We will continue to provide our own out of hours service with our own team of vets and nurses. We do use an out of hours answer service which means a trained call handler will take your details and then immediately contact the vet on call and pass your details on - this is a safety feature so we don’t miss any important emergency calls. The vet will strive to call you back as soon as they are able. We offer our out of hours emergency service for all of our departments; farm, equine and companion animal and can offer home visits out of hours as well. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year for emergencies so you will always see a friendly, reliable face that is local to you.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?
We chose our name based on covering the Otter, Sid and Coly Valley areas but we actually reach a lot further! We cover the extended East Devon area from Exmouth & East Exeter area to the Axminster area and from the coast up to Cullompton. Although we do have some farms and yards that are slightly further out, so please get in touch about whether we can cover your area and what your requirements are and we’ll try our best to help.
WHAT DO YOU DO AS PART OF THE COMMUNITY?
We keep saying we love being part of the community so we of course need to prove it. Our team are currently all permanent members of staff that have lived and worked in the area for years. They own houses here, are members of local sports teams or other community hobby groups and have kids at school in the local areas. You’ll often spot us frequenting local shops, cafes and pubs and are always trying to support local events - from town based events like tar barrels to agricultural shows, pony clubs and point to points.
Being independent we get to choose our suppliers and we strive to choose local & independent suppliers for our business where possible (with some recent suppliers coming from Honiton, Ottery St Mary and Newton Abbot). We also believe in working alongside our other local vets and we have good working relationships with other local small animal, equine and farm veterinary practices in the extended area.
WHAT SERVICES CAN YOU OFFER AT A HOME OR WORKPLACE VISIT?
For a home or workplace visits we can offer:
- Consultations including vaccinations, flea & worm checks and prescription checks
- Nurse consultations (nail clips, grooming, anal glands, microchipping, dental and weight checks)
- Puppy and Kitten group exams
- Working dog group exams
- Exotic consultations

A lot! To see our full list of services have a look at the farm page on our website. We love working with our farmers and managing individual farms with them no matter how big or small. Every farm is different so we can offer a tailored service for whatever you need; whether it’s occasional visits & TB testing for a small herd or intensive veterinary involvement with weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly clinical or non-clinical visits to discuss your productivity and areas of improvement. We’re happy to come out on fertility visits or have a chat and a walk around to discuss anything you need to go through from housing to pregnancy rates or disease control. Being independent means we’re flexible. And as a small team it’ll be the same faces you’re seeing so we get to know you and your farm individually.
WHAT CAN YOU OFFER ME & MY HORSE OR YARD?
Again we have a full services list on our equine page but we can offer you occasional visits as you need for vaccines, dentals and emergencies or regular routine visits to your yard. We cater for all equines whether racehorse or eventer, pleasure pony or donkey! Our team will get to know you and your horses and strive to always give you the best service for a reasonable cost. We offer our own 24/7 emergency service so it will always be your own vets coming out. We are able to offer everything from vaccines & dentals to castrations, medical work-ups, lameness or poor performance exams. If we can’t offer what your horse needs through our ambulatory service we work closely with other local practices with in-patient or referral services. Get in touch with what you need for your horse or yard and we can discuss things further!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT DIFFERENT MEDICATION THAT ISN’T IN STOCK?
All you need to do is speak with us! We have chosen medication to stock that is clinically proven and trusted and allows us to offer the best possible price. But we understand our clients have specific preferences and some medications change in their price and availability. So we are happy to explain why we have chosen to stock a certain medication and if there is a specific alternative that you would prefer and we can look into whether we can order that in for you or provide an alternative.
DO YOU PROVIDE A MONTHLY CLUB FOR DISCOUNTED FLEA AND WORMER?
Yes, we do – and it’s not just flea and wormer! Our monthly plan means you pay a set amount each month but receive benefits such as yearly vaccinations, 6-month health checks, free nurse consults (including anal glands, nail clips and dental checks) and microchipping as well as flea, tick and worm treatment or Rearguard for rabbits. For those signed up we also offer 20% off all professional veterinary fees such as consultations, procedures and surgeries.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE CLAIMS?
Yes! We work with a large variety of insurance companies so get in touch when you need to make a claim on your insurance and we can guide you on what to do.
HOW CAN I GIVE FEEDBACK ON YOUR SERVICE?
Good or bad we welcome feedback as we are always happy to learn and take on board suggestions. We care about providing the best possible service so let us know what we have done that is good or what could be improved. All you have to do is drop us an email or give us a call. Again as we are independent we can discuss any feedback in house and provide prompt responses to you.
